How to Increase hard disk speed

When u install utilities like Tune UP
Win XP manager, super utilities, System Mechanic etc., and click on increase system performance, optimize, etc. then these applications do hundreds of activities and tweaks with ur s/m out of which the above is just a one.
You may not do these manually if u have installed such softwares

Do the following to increase..........

Run SYSEDIT.EXE from the start & then Run command.

Expand the system.ini file window.

Scroll down almost to the end of the file till you find a line called [386enh].

Press Enter to make one blank line, and in that line type

Irq14=4096

Note: This line IS CASE SENSITIVE!!!

Click on the File menu, then choose Save.

Close SYSEDIT and reboot your computer.

Done. Speed improvement will be noticed after the computer reboots.
Update: The most speed improvement is visible with IDE drives, however there are reports that this tweak also does good for SCSI disks. In any case, it won't harm your system, so why not try it yourself and let me know what you find

Step By Step Tutorial on How to Make Ringtones

I will try to go step by step and post screenshots along every step,so it would be easier for new members to follow....

Hopefully, this could be some kind of help to you guys!!!

Step 1 - Power Mp3 cutter :

It's a VERY easy software to use, from which u can cut ur favorite part from ur song!!! It's also very small in size!!!

First of all,drag & drop ur mp3 file in it,than set a begin and an end and you will end up having ur favorite segment....{see screenshots}

1-Setting a begin:

2 - Setting an end:

3 - Processing:

PS1 : Don't try to directly convert it into .wav format becoz there is no specifications in this application for this, you will end up with a large file size!!

PS2 : As you can see, I left the bitrates "same as source file" ,but you can adjust the bitrates (which will result in a small file size)!!you have to check which bitrates suites ur mobile the most!!

4 - Favorite Part/Segment:

PS1 : As you can see , i ended up with a segment with 28 seconds long...choose the duration you want, but no one needs a tone with a length more than 50 secs!!!

PS2 : I advise to tick the "fade out" effect ,it will give a better end for ur tone.

PS3 : For users who uses mp3 format as ringtone,i guess the job ends here...all you have to do is to send it to ur mobile!!

Step 2 - Fairstars Audio Converter:

Also an easy & friendly application to use, which will allow you to convert ur favorite segment mentioned above to wav. format!!!

Open the application and drag & drop ur segment into it....

You will see the specifications of ur segment (mp3) & its file size,just select "convert to wav" {See screenshots}

1 - Input:

2 - Bitrates Specifications:

After inputting the segment & selecting wav, just go to "options" than "wav" and modify the bitrates for ur wav file!!

PS1 :Follow the exact specifications as in the screenshot :

1-Channel: Mono
2-Bits per sample: 8 bits
3-Sampling Rate: 22050Hz

PS2 : Using these specifications, you will end up with a lound volume for ur tone with a 95 % clear sound, and most of all a small wav file size!!!!
You can control the volume of the tone by lowering the "sampling rate" ,but don't try to make it any higher (more than 22050 hz) else you will end up with a distored sound file!!!!

3 - Conversion:

4 - Stereo mode & Bitrates:

Some users just don't mind the size nor the volume and prefer a 100% clear sound file!!

To this you will have to change the specifications as follow:

1-Channel: Stereo
2-Bits per sample:16bits
3-Sampling rate: 16000 Hz

Using these specifications, you will end with an excellent sound clarity & a good sound volume, but a larger file size!!!!

PS1 : Adjusting the "bits per sample" to 8 bits will also reduce the file size!!

See Screenshots

5 - File size:

See for exemple the file size of the new converted wav segment (mono mode)

Note: this size could be even smaller, coz in here i didn't change the bitrates of the mp3 file while cutting it, i left it as 128kbps!!!

Step 3 - Goldwave: {optional}

Also an easy to use program!!!
Some of you, after doing all the steps mentioned above, may not be satisfied from the volume,clarity...etc of their new wav file!!!
Here is where you have to use this program and modify some stuff in ur wav file to get the best results!!!!

1 - Initiation & Hotkeys:

I guess the screenshot explains everything, and as you can see there is some Hotkeys in this application which we r going to use!!!

2 - 3 steps for a better sound:

( A ) - Noise Reduction:

As you can see,we can reduce the noise in the wav file, and there is many noise types!! i have marked the main noises that a wav file could suffer from....just intiate the adjustements and than press preview "play icon" ,if satified than all you have to do is apply them!!!

( B ) - Silence reduction:

Same as before, you can reduce the silence in ur wav file...preview than apply!!!

( C ) - Change volume:

Same as before, the option explains itself...it's for volume editting!!!
Many users asks about this, i have marked the most common volume options you could use....also preview than apply!!

Note: I advise not to amplify the volume a lot, else you will end up with some ditortions in ur file!! the 150 % is the most suitable!!!

How To Retain music from songs(removing vocal)

Vocal removal is a very inexact science. It is very difficult to completely remove vocals from a song. However, with many songs, and the latest technology, it is possible to do a decent job when it comes to removing vocals from a recording.

Requires Mixcraft - Download a free trial of Mixcraft 2.0 here

Download the free vocal removal plug-in

The Extra Boy vocal removal VST plug-in, created by Elevayta (www.elevayta.com), is a free, high-quality vocal removal tool. Download the Extra Boy vocal removal plug-in from Acoustica?s site at the following URL:

http://www.acoustica.com/plugins/vst-directx.htm

Install this VST Effect, and restart Mixcraft.

Load a song

Load a song and place it at time zero on track one:

Next, press the FX button on Track 1, and you will see the Track 1 Effects dialog:

Click on the ?Select New Effect To Add? drop-down and load the Extra_Boy effect:

Select the ?Full Spectrum (HR)? preset. The (HR) presets are High Resolution presets and will give you better results.

Play!

Now, press Play in Mixcraft and you will hear your song with reduced vocals. This process is not always perfect, and depends on the song, but sometimes the results can be very, very good.

You can now Render the results to a WAV file, MP3 file, or other file format using the File Render function, or you can burn the track directly to CD. In addition, you can string a number of songs together on the same track, one after the next, and use the CD Track Marker and CD Burning tools to burn a music-only CD. This is great for karaoke parties!

Experiment!

Experiment with the controls in Extra Boy. Try different settings and see if you can achieve better results. There are additional presets as well which may give you better (or worse!) results. Since Vocal Removal is a very difficult science, it is difficult to make a preset that works on all sorts of sonic material, so tweaking the controls can greatly improve your results. Have fun with it!

Note:
The link to these softwares are just demo version.....so it will have 2 second breaks while playing the songs.....to avoid this either pay and buy it or find a crack for it.

Tutorial to combine 2 full dvd's in one

Starting with v 3.0 DvdReMake can be used to combine 2 full dvds (DvdReMake Pro - 4 dvds) together so that they can be burned on one dvd disk. This means FULL - keeping original menus, languages, everything.

Procedure is completely automated, you simply import disks you would like to merge, go to "Tools\Merge DVD..." menu and select projects to be merged. As a result you will get a new project. Export it and you have two disks merged to one DVD.

When played this disk will show a start up menu asking what disk you would like to go to; after that selected disk will play as if it is the only one on the DVD. At any time during playback pushing "title menu" on the remote will take you to this start up menu.

Why?

Why would one want to put two (and more) full DVDs on one disk? Well, there could be plenty of reasons. This guide is based on one of them.

There were two DVDs made out of footage shot during vacations. Those were different trips with more then a year interval between them, so quite naturally they ended up on different DVDs. Another year latter, during one of the family "get-togethers", relatives found these disks and decided that they must have it as well. Why not?

But original disks were quite small, about 2Gb, and they both would fit nicely to one DVD. There was no point in wasting blanks so DvdReMake Pro was used to merge them.

Step-by-step description of the procedure

Disks are ripped to the hard drive and imported into DvdReMake (Pro). Importing dialog title "Select directory for DVD import" can be somewhat confusing. It is necessary to get into folder with files you want to import and then push "Select".

Once disks are imported go to "Tools/Merge DVDs?" ?

? and select projects you want to merge:

Hit "Merge" and in few seconds project with merged disk is ready:

That is it, you can export now.

Whole thing took less than 30 seconds to import and merge disks and about 15 minutes to export merged project. You can burn it now with your favorite DVD burning application.

Step BY Step Tutorial on Joining avi files

VirtualDub-You need this excellent tool to join two AVI files together.
Pls google for the download link!

Note: This will not work for files that have different framerates, codecs or resolutions. The idea is that we will add the two files together quickly without having to do any re-encoding.

Step. 1 - File --> Open Video File

Launch VirtualDub and open the first AVI file in the sequence of videos you want to join by selecting File--> Open video file.

Step. 2 - Open First AVI file

Find the first AVI file, select it and then click Open. You will now see it open in VirtualDUB. If the program says it's unable to locate a decompressor, then you will have to find the appropriate codec. I recommend you install FFDShow.

Step. 3 - Scroll to the end of the file

Drag the slider straight to the end of the video stream. Make sure it is set on the very last frame.

Step. 4 - File --> Append AVI Segment

Now after you have made sure the last frame is selected, click File --> Append AVI Segment and the File Browser will pop up again.

Step. 5 - Open Second AVI file

Locate the second AVI file, select it and click Open, the second file should now be added to the end of the first file. Now this is where you will get problems if you have file with separate framerates, resolutions or codecs.

Step. 6 - Video --> Direct Stream Copy

Now we have to make sure that you don't end up with decompressed Video (which would probably result in a file 100's of GB's in size). Click Video --> Direct Stream Copy. This is very important, do not forget this.!

Step. 7 - Audio --> Direct Stream Copy

Just as we had to with Video, we just have to make sure that you won't wind up with uncompressed Audio (LPCM). Click Audio --> Direct Stream Copy. This is very important, do not forget this!

Step. 8 - File --> Save As AVI

Now you are ready to save an AVI file. Click File --> Save As AVI, select where you want to save a new AVI file and then it will only take a few minutes at most to save it.

Finally

Hopefully this will have helped you to join two AVI files together. If you have any problems or questions, please post it..

Comments r welcomed... ;)

How to crack protected DVDs

This rip process should be done before you attempt to make a DVD-Rip (XviD, DivX, x264) or CCE jobs, otherwise
there may be problems with your rip. e.g. out of sync, start & end is wrong, bits missing etc etc.
There are other tools for the job but this one I found to be the most updated & free.

Rip the DVD using RipIt4Me

You will also need the following:

DVD Decrypter

DVD Shrink

Install DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter and then RipIt4Me.

Start RipIt4Me and make sure the following settings are match as below.

Then just insert the DVD and click on 1-Click mode.

Select the drive if you have more than one and hit next.

After its finished ripping the DVD, RipIt4Me will run FixVTS and finally it will open the movie in DVD Shrink.

Close DVD Shrink.

How To Recover Scratched CD's And DVD's

Don't you feel like crying every time you add another disc to your pile of scratched discs. Trashing that disc which contained your favorite songs, pics, files, games or videos is not easy.

Read-on, if you find yourself wishing for a miracle every time your fav CD is scratched:

Home Remedy :

Here's an easy home remedy, which might give you the desired results. Rub a small amount of toothpaste on the scratch and polish the CD with a soft cloth and any petroleum-based polishing solution (like clear shoe polish). Squirt a drop of Brasso and wipe it with a clean cloth.

Technology To The Rescue :

There are many softwares available on the net, which enable the recovery of the CD data. BadCopy Pro is one such software, which can be used to recover destroyed data and files from a range of media.

Just a few clicks is all it requires to recover the disc from almost all kind of damage situation; be it corrupted, lost data, unreadable or defective.

DiskDoctors is another popular company, which offers both software and solutions to recover data from a scratched CDs and DVDs.

General Tips:

* Always wipe the CD from the center outward with stratight spoke-like strokes. Wiping CDs in circles will create more scratches.

* Do not scratch the graphics layer as you cannot repair the disc.
HINT: Hold the disc up to a light with the graphics layer facing the light source. If you can see light thru the scratches at any point then the disc may be irreparable and or exhibit loading or playing errors.

* Clean your Disc players lens regularly with a suitable product to ensure optimal viewing pleasure.

* Make sure to use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean both sides of the disc. Wipe in a straight line from the centre of the disc to the outer edge.

* If wiping with a cloth does not remove a fingerprint or smudge, use a specialized DVD disc polishing spray to clean the disc.

* Only handle the disc by its outer edge and the empty hole in the middle. This will help prevent fingerprints, smudges or scratches.

Statistics:

* Fingermarks/prints cause 43% of disc problems!
* General wear & tear causes 25% of disc problems!
* Player-related issues cause 15% of disc problems!
* User-related issues cause 12% of disc problems!
* PlayStation 2 machine scratches cause 3% of disc problems!
* Laser rot (a manufacturer error) causes 2% of disc problems!

How Do Schedule uTorrent to seed or Download at a give time period

There are two ways to do this:

1. WinXP scheduler

In a MSDOS box (You get it by typing "cmd" in the START & RUN links).
Once in the black CMD window you can type > AT ? or AT help
This will show you the help on how to use AT command.
But this is not a good option.

2. uTorrent scheduler
This is the best option.
You go to the scheduler option via:

Preference => Scheduler

There you have to check the "Enable Scheduler" box.
Below it you have 7 sets of 24 "green" boxes.
Each of the 7 rows corresponds to a day from Monday to Sunday.

Each of the boxes corresponds for an hourly time line, starting from 00 am to 11 PM (or 0:00 h to 23:00 h.

By default they are green => which means "Full Speed Seed"

In your case if you want to seed from 2 am to 8 am daily :

Click in the 3rd to 8th box till it is green and turn the rest to White. (See Screenshot below).

You can adjust the UL & DL speed there too.
This will do the job lots smarter for you .

By default you will have to leave your PC ON for this.

There is also an option to start utorrent automatically when your PC boots up:

In uTorrent "Preferences":
=> General Window
- At the bottom of the pane you will see "Windows Integration".
Check the "Start uTorrent On System Startup".

It will start and DL or UL any torrents that was in it the last time you closed it.

You can also program the BIOS setup and set in the CMOS the time at which you want your PC to boot UP.
This is available in most today's PC. Check the document that comes with your PC or Motherboard for seting this Option.

Hope this helps.

how to make a dvdrip Using x264 Codec and Mp4 Container

MeGUI is the most frequently updated program I know... new version are always coming, and thinkg are improving. x264 and xvid are going through a update proces... Be smart and let the autoupdate update everything.... 2 minutes will not hurt you.

The idea is that you know something about ripping... most softwear are provided in the .rar file I update, but you have to do something like updating your plugin folder in AVISynth folder.... I will skip through something which I think are obious, if you have question just ask me here, or I am just a PM away...

Now let's do the real think....

Softwear you will need...

DVD Dycrypter
Avisynth (google it)
MeGUI (Downlod here) RapidShare Link MegaUpload Link

You will need these Plugin folder aswelll RapidShare Link MegaUpload Link

Once Install Steps....

unzip the .rar file I provided and put it on the location you desired... I used my MY VIDEO folder....

Click on Tools Setting...

Most of them are self explained.... do not ask me to explain each and every one of them

This is the fun part... rellocate each and every program... all the programs are provided in the rar file I have uploaded....

In your C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5 there should be a folder called plugins replace that folder with the one I have provided above... and that's it. You should be ready to use MeGUI now.

Step 1:

Decrypter the movie... get it on your harddrive to be used....

Install DVD Dycrypter, and open it. Click on Mode -> IFO

you will see the screen that looks something like the one below

By Default DVD Dycrypter chooses the longest titel, which usually is the movie... after selecting title you want to decrypter just Click on dvd -> HD symbol on lower left

Step 2 :

Creating a AVS Script to do frameserving

In the MeGUI\tools\DGIndex folder... there is a utility called DGIndex.exe

Most of you know how to use DGIndex, so I am just gone briefly touch this topic

Just open DGIndex... File -> open... open all the .vob files you just created... and open

Got File -> Save project, and save the .d2v file. This file you will use to create AVISynth Script...

Click on Tools -> AviSynth Script creator

In Video Input browse for .d2v file you just created and choose this file

Click on AutoCrop and Tick the Suggest Resize and you are done with this tab

Switch to Filters tab and click on Analyse to Analyse if the source is progressive, hybrid or interlaced... once MeGUI is done scanning it will choose the filter that should be used and will tell you the detail summary of your source

Also use resize filter you like and I suggest you tick color correction

Detailed... Source Summary. This has to be deinterlaced to get good quality... will take longer time encoding

Once Done hit the save button... and save the avs script. you are done creating avs script.

Step 3:

Video Encoding....

As you can see MeGUI already choose the .AVS file and default output for the file. From here you choose the Codecs and container you desire.

For our pupouses we are not gone bother with this, as this is suppose to be "easy"

I have provided a great set of profiles by sharktooth... Just choose the profile you desire, Quality, speed, long time, loseless, 1 pass, portable, HD everything is included....

I use HQ-slow to do my encoding... and as it says it is slow, but it is by all means HQ

But if you are really interested and you hit config button... you will be lost

Lost of options and too much sh*t to even worry about... so just be thankful sharktooth used his knoledge

This is important

MeGUI does not have perfect bitrate calculator... or if you have one use it.

if you still want to use MeGUI bitrate calculator, go to Tools -> Bitrate Calculator

Select the audio KBs (128 is enough for 1 CD), choose 1 or 2 CD rips and click on Apply

If you manually counted your bitrate, just check the circler next to average bitrate and enter your own bitrate, hit apply...

Some suggetions... some inputs from me

Here is what I do, I choose my audio bitrate and then on botton see the size of projected audio... better yet I encode my audio first and keep the size in mind

Now I subtract the size of audio from size of video, in the custom size... now you have perfect bitrate
Always aim for 695 MB, as you should leave some space for muxing and subtitle purpouses

here is a screenshot which might help

and you are done...

Click on Enque and it will put the file a queue to be encoded

Switch to the Queue tab and hit Start to begin Encoding....

This might look too much, but once you are done with your first Rip... you will feel like you have mastered this art of rippping...
Let's do the audio part...
MeGUI improved and uses new and more popular way of audio encoding, AviSynth audio Encoding, which gives more power in audio encoding as well, if you are interested downlod BeHappy and see all you can do with it... for our purpouses we will only do simplest and most effective encoding possible.

When you created a .d2v file using DGIndex, it always extracted all the audio file in the movie, these files can be found in the same folder as your .d2v file

Choose the ac3 file you would like to use and then click on config button...

You would see the codec setting for ND ACC or NeroDigital AAC Encoder....

Let's talk briefly what and why for this

What is AAC, well that you have to google

NeroDigital is becoming a very popular Audio Codec.... and it is my favourtie

AAC will help you keep original channel, so you can get dolby digital experiance even in 1CD Rip... so what are the option availble and what do the do, take a look at this

Output channel should be self explained

Choose Increase volume and improve accurate.... you know what I mean

Let's talk more about ABR, CBR, and VBR for audio encoding....

CBR uses constant bitrate, so same bitrate for each frame

VBR as you all know gives variable bitrate, but unlike vidoe encoding, VBR in audio encoding gives uncertainl file size... I am not the biggest fan of VBR

So, my favourite is, the one that uses both, ABR is not availble in mp3 encoding, atleast not to my knowledge.... ABR is VBR with accurate file size, ABR or average bitrate mathod, simply uses 2 passes to analise the source and reencodes giving more bitrate where needed and less bitrate when it is not necessary....

Click ok to see the main MeGUI screen

Now you are ready to heat the enqueue button to add the job to the encoder

Switch to Queue tab and hit start That's it for audio part

There are few more codecs to choose frome

if you are doing xvid avi, choose mp3

Faac is also used to do loseless mp4 encoding (if you have sensitive ears, use this to get amazing audio quality, but a bit bigger filesize)

Ogg is very popular so you might know about it, mp2 is used for DVD and VCD creation
